Collaboration has been a vital area across all the functions of the business from a long time. The journey started long back with just instant messaging which has now taken the shape of voice, video, text, collaborative workspace and document / screen sharing.

An organisation whose tagline says it is powered by “mind+machine” has a lot of responsibility on its shoulders to stay true to its ideals. This means not just going digital but ensuring it is constantly on a journey of digital transformation.

Evalueserve, a global professional services provider offering research, analytics and data management services, is staying true to its motto and has, therefore, undertaken many projects to transform the organisation.

Some of these projects have helped the global firm to create a platform to go digital in multiple directions. “Journey to the Cloud and creating a balancing act by the virtue of Hybrid Cloud was the most vital step to enable digital transformation,” shares Sachin Jain, CIO, Evalueserve.

For a company that deals with tonnes of customer data, security remains its topmost priority. Using digital transformation, Evalueserve is now using automation and digitisation for security and it has helped the team in a big way. “Governance, risk and compliance have been strengthened while creating the convenience and efficiency (up to 90 per cent) for users. The approach for almost all new projects is around availability, accessibility and security of information while focussing on user experience,” explains Jain.

The professional services firm has taken up Cloud adoption in a big way. Now, messaging, collaboration, document sharing, communication, applications and databases are some areas which run from Cloud. These are offered to the global audience to create a platform which offers support for enterprise level efficiency, social and mobility.

This, in turn, has resulted in custom products becoming better and faster. “The retail model to our research services as a new revenue stream was launched in Cloud from day one and offers easy access to custom and pre-build reports to our clients globally,” says Jain.

The company is seeing operational efficiency of up to 90 per cent in various parts of the organisation. The journey continues but Jain hopes to do even better. The need for collaboration had been higher than ever among teams spread across the globe. Jain, therefore, has been working on bringing the teams together to ensure a robust multi-geography work environment.

The role of a CIO is constantly evolving and become more and more strategic. And this is quite evident from Jain's case at Evalueserve. The digital transformation journey continues for him with special focus on getting better with time.
