TRANZLEASE

With the organisation went online, we made leasing as a simple offer for our customers, connecting all enterprises and their customers online and offering them an online car account which is a self-service portal for any anonymous user to come and procure his car online and manage his car throughout its life cycle.

Car leasing is an emerging concept in India where consumers still prefer to own a car instead of leasing it. Tranzlease is one of the fastest growing automobile leasing companies which started operation in 2006 and achieved product leadership in a short span of time with the strong domain of its promoters. Over the years, it has managed to usher a change in the perception of leasing, the way it was looked upon in the past. With the change in consumer perception and technology driving business, the power of digitisation was felt. This is where Tranzlease saw an opportunity to move to completely technology-driven enterprise to diversify and expand its business offering to Indian masses with a desi flavour yet act as a digital enterprise to offer more personalised and effective services.

That is when the company decided to bring Vishal Sinha as its President & CIO. “Tranzlease was more than a project for me and I knew why I was hired including my role of building technological capabilities and transforming the organisation digitally, taking it to the digital level from the traditional level,” feels Sinha.

For Tranzlease, becoming a digital enterprise was a business opportunity and operational need to reach the end-customer to make that experience more personal, more effective and have the first-mover advantage in leasing space.

It clearly was not an easy task at hand for Sinha. He had to reimagine and visualise the business through a digital lens – both at workplace and in customer engagement as the objective was about enhancing and strengthening those connections with the company's customers in only the way that digital can.

“Today, all users who have taken a car on lease from us have an online car account and they have everything in hand, beginning from their choice of car to documents to insurance to billing to touchpoints to reach us and interact,” Sinha explains.

So how did this digital transformation journey take place? “I was clear on the vision and strategy of Tranzlease so a blueprint was carved out, technological capabilities were built, resources armed up to transform various processes as step one and started designing digital enterprise architecture to build in-house capabilities of virtualised data centre to support and scale up future and designed the information architecture of leasing ERP,” Sinha says describing the entire exercise.

In parallel, multiple projects were rolled out and moved in consistent and speedy manner, aiming at binding people and process with automation to start the transformation within TZL itself and similarly other releases of leasing CRM, leasing asset portal and online customer portal and online documentation rolled out so that the entire organisation participates in this digital transformation.

“We have a streamlined digital environment wherein working is more automated and defined, wherein every data and information is secured from all access level to integrity to vulnerabilities and this made us ISO compliant in information security and a business continuity and disaster recovery enabled enterprise,” says Sinha.

Tranzlease is now a digital enterprise, has digital assets, does digital procurements and has digital customers. “This has transformed our operational business go digital with a fresh sales and marketing approach, additional sales and revenue stream created to achieve more numbers. The communication with the customer is more transparent and scalable. With this transformation, we have geared up ourselves and ready to go retail,” says Sinha proudly.
